Lefkada
The “diamond” of Ionian Sea, located at a short distance from the mainland, it is just 70 meters from it. Lefkada is famous for its unbeatable beaches, the surrounding islets (the Princes islands), its cultural events with leading „‟the Literature and Art festivals‟‟ which are organized every August and host prominent artists from all over the world.
Easy destination, as it is the only island in which the visitors can come by car without ferry-boat expenses, by using the floating bridge that connects Lefkada with Aitoloakarnania. Intercity buses run daily 4 routes (5 hours) to and from Athens (378 km), while from and to Thessaloniki (420 km), one route (5 hours) a week.
The Aktio – Preveza Undersea Tunnel makes easy the access to the island from northwestern Greece and the port of Igoumenitsa (100 km), which is a great gateway from Western and Central Europe.
The Rio – Antirrio Bridge facilitates the connection of the island with the rest of Greece and with the port of Patra (170 km), which is also a great gateway to Europe.
The closest airport to Lefkada island is Aktion National Airport. A floating bridge connects Lefkada island with the mainland of Greece.
Lygia
Located at the northeast part of Lefkada island and 5km from the center of Lefkada town. It has easy access to all sights. Lygia is a fishing village where the residents have dealt with fishing for many years. You can find fishing boats, which are anchored in the small and picturesque port of Lygia.
In the old days, the townspeople used to visit it in the summer in order to eat traditional Riganada with salted anchovies or sardines at the pretty cafes.
